  1. I found this article interesting even though it was long. I think that the idea of ranking all the basketball players all the way back to middle school is a good idea in theory. But i also think that kids are unstable and putting that much pressure on them is crazy. A middle school all star has one bad game, or plays a team that is bigger, better, or stronger and loses. Their career could be over by the age of eleven. No thats asinine; a kid could be the worst kid on the team in 6th grade and be the best in the country in 12th grade, you don't know. Sure it can be a great method for a coach, but the negatives outweigh the positives. There are not enough reporters in the world to make a completely accurate analysis. Even seeing a team go head to head is not enough to accurately judge. There is also a reporters favoritism, reporters are human like the rest of us. There is to much room for mistake to judge a middle schooler. Now on the other hand ranking all the high school players I think is a good idea. Yes teens are unstable also but they have more to strive for. Also college is right around the corner for someone who is in high school. High school players need to be evaluated and pushed to the limit.

  2. Great points D'artanyn. I think that's just it. The instability. How could someone possibly predict greatness based on what a kid is doing in 4th grade or 9th grade. The Bills can't accurately predict what a 22 year old is going to do when they reach the NFL.
